I am not going for a skinny jean (LOL)

Q: Dear Butt Therapist,
I just listened to your podcast at the Real Men Real Style site and it was really helpful, but of course I have a question (or ten…) and the questions are around the styles and washes. I’m 54, probably like many guys out there, not in great shape.  6′ 2″ tall, 38 waist, 34 inseam, I’ll say kinda skinny legs.  I work in a casual (jeans/khaki and golf shirt) environment, but also love to wear sportscoats.
So, obviously I am not going for a skinny jean (LOL), but help me out, straight leg, boot cut, argh!  All of the jeans you mentioned (7 for All Mankind, AG, Agave, etc) have so many styles, can you help?
Also, should I stick with a basic (dark) blue, faded, heavy fade??
Thanks for the millions of us….

A: Hi R,

Thank you for your message, you are spot on. There are so many styles to choose from it makes it seem like an impossible task. I mean all we want is a great pair of jeans. I do better when I have an image of you in your favorite jeans but I have enough information to shoot from the hip so.. I am going to give you a single recommendation on style but it comes in a great 5 pocket twill fabrication in multiple colors. Agave denim is one of few Made in the USA brands that put product integrity first. They are based right out side Portland, OR in a beautiful wetland preservation space and support the community on a daily basis. Whe a pair of Agave jeans are not made in the USA you can bet that the factory is one of the best. I know where the Italian twill fabric originates and you are getting a far superiour product with respect to the price point. Jeff, the founder ensures a good value. There are many options to move away from the classick Khaki that will suit your lifestyle and represent your style a bit better. I am excited to get your feed back.

p.s these are not skinny jeans they are a straight leg. That means that the knee and ankle opening are the same to give you a long leg line and puddle on your shoe just perfectly. If you try the pragmatist and still want a higher rise (crotch to waist) then you would want to go for the Waterman style instead. However, I dare you to try the pragmatist first.

Passionately yours,

The Butt Therapist
